Places of Interest

  • Kanchipuram is situated 40 kms north from Vandavasi. Many famous temples namely Kamatchi Amman temple, Sri Egabaranathar Temple, Varatharaja Perumal Koil, Komara Kottam , Kanchi Kama Kotti madam and etc., available in Kanchipuram.
  • Sri Pandurangar temple at Thennangoor is located 6 kms fro m Vandavasi. This temple was build in North Indian style. This temple is located on the way of Vandavasi to Kanchipuram route. The temple is very popular in and around Vandavasi.
  • Sri Athi parasakthi temple at Melmaruvathur is located 28 kms from Vandavasi.
  • The temple is known as the ‘Tavalagirisvara’ and is called the Venkundram Hill, about 5 km from Vandavasi. Poojas are held every month on full moon day. The famous Kartik Deepam festival is celebrated in the month of November / December, with about 1.00 lakhs of people from all the villages surrounding Vandavasi coming to the top of the Maha Maha Deepam.
  • The Mambattu Muthumariamman temple is famous for its temple on the Chetpet Road, 5 km away from Vandavasi.
  • Thellaru is the place where Nandigalambakam was founded on the Pallava king Nandivarman, 14km south of Vandavasi.
