Vadalur located in Cuddalore District functioned as Selection Grade Town Panchayat was upgraded to IInd Grade Municipality as per G.O.No. 81 dated 14/10/2021. This Municipality is located in 200 kms. South of State capital Chennai. The town lies in the intersection of Vikkiravandi – Kumbakonam – Thanjavur NH road and Cuddalore / Virudhachalam / Salem SH road. More ever it is very near to Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited. This Municipality extends over an area of 19.93 sq.km. The world famous Sathya Gnana sabai which was originated by Ramalinga adigal is located in this Municipality limit.
