1. Vaigai Dam :
The main tourist spot Vaigai Dam is built across the River Vaigai, near Aundipatti, 22 Kms away from Usilampatti. It’s of height 106 feet, length of 11,675 feet and storage of water is 71 feet. The dam is unique for the lighting in the evening of all Saturdays and Sundays around the green gardens. The children’s park, acuarium and Play field are other attractions for children.
2. Sothuparai Dam :
Sothuparai dam is situated in the Agamalai range of hills near Periyakulam, 40 kms away from Usilampatti . It is built across the river ‘Varaha’. It is a beautiful picnic spot. The vide expanse of stored water is an impressive sight. It gives immense pleasure as we experience hills trekking.
3. Kumbakkarai Falls :
The Kumbakkarai Falls is an important place of Tamilnadu tourist attractions. It is surrounded with forest and is located at 24 kms from Usilampatti. The water originates in Kodaikanal hills. The water flows throughout the year. The water of this falls contains goodness of minerals and herbals. As it is in the foothills of Kodaikanal, it is adventure for students of trekking to reach Kodaikanal by walk through ghat.
4. Suruli Falls :
Suruli falls is located 65 kms south from Usilampatti. It falls from, at a height of 150 feet gathers into a pool. The dense forest that surround it provides s spectacular sight of natures beauty. The special feature of the fall is water flows throughout the year. The holy water is said to cure several incurable diseases. The beauties of Suruli falls and Suruli hill are mentioned in the Tamil epic ‘Silappathikaram’. Suruli Andavar temple known as Suruli Velappar Temple situated here also attracts more pilgrims. This is a sacred river to Hindus along every fragment of its length. All along its course, Hindus bathe in its waters, paying homage to their ancestors and to their gods by cupping the water in their hands, lifting it and letting it fall back into the river; On the journey back home from Suruli, they carry small quantities of sacred river water with them for use in rituals.
5. Thekkady :
Thekkady is situated 95 kms southwest from Usilampatti at the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala States. It is a reservoir surrounded by thick green spectacular forest. This forest is a sanctuary of animals like elephants, sambars, wild boars, bisons; and we can have a closer look at animal while boating. The sanctuary offers an enchanting view of the wild life by taking a boat trip in the lake. Jungle walks can also be interesting.
6. Pandi Kovil :
Pandi kovil, is located at about 50 kms from Usilampatti in the east. It is a perfect destination for a great time with your dear ones and the way to relax after a busy weekdays. Pandi kovil, is well known for “Pandimuni”; the devotees offers the god what they promised to. Usilampatti is the best way to have a memorable time with kids and family.
