Thuraiyur Municipality is collecting the following taxes directly from the public:
I. Property Tax
II. Professional Tax
III. Fees and Charges
A. Water Charges
B. Encroachment License fees
IV. Non tax revenues: Revenue from commercial ventures like markets, shopping
complexes, etc.,
The following revenues are assigned to the Municipality:
1. Entertainment tax
2. Surcharge on Stamp duty
Library Cess
At present for every Rupee of the property tax collected by the local bodies 10 paisa is added as library Cess and collected along with the property tax and remitted to the local Library Authority.
