CONSTITUTION

 The Government of Tamilnadu has decided its in principal that the Business of the Government is as picidly and opening with responsibility at all levels and decided to provide to the public by all sources. Hence the Government has formulated CITIZENS CHARTER based on the above principals the Thuraiyur Municipal and has come forwarded to present this CITIZEN’S CHARTER the public.

PURPOSES OF THIS CHARTER

  • To provide the services with Fast and Standard
  • To declare a time limit for providing the services
  • To upgrade the Administration by adopting opening for getting the confidences of the Consumer.

PROVIDING OF BETTER ADMINISTRATION

For the purpose of providing best civic services to the people of the town with upgraded standard and efficiency.

To discharge the civic bodies works with at most care and honest

To provide the to civic services with special care to provide the civic services in a systematic and time Bound manner with efficiency.

Regarding providing of various Public services by this civic body in implementation, execution and maintenance of Administration of the works relating to Public Health, Water supply, Roads, drainages and Street Lights and other services to the public are within following specified time schedule.

 I. WATER SUPPLY

  • Avoid wastage of water. Do not use drinking water for gardening and other similar purposes
  • Do not draw water unauthorized or through installation of pumps in municipal connection
  • Get the repairs attended after proper intimation to corporation and under the supervision of Municipal Engineering Staff
  • Pay water charges and other dues promptly and avoid disconnection
  • Conserve rainwater and install Rain Water Harvesting structures in all buildings.
  • Keep the tap closed both in house and in public stand post to avoid pollution
  • Report water leakage, theft as a public service
  • Do not tamper with water supply connection or meters

HEALTH AND SANITATION
Solid Waste Management The waste management in the town is entrusted with the Health Section. The aim of the Municipality is 100% collection of garbage generated in the town daily.

There are 24 wards in Thuraiyur Municipality, We are doing segregation of Solid Waste in 5 Wards and door-to-door collection in all wards. We have proposed to privities 8 wards

  • Keep your premises clean. Remove bushes and shrubs then and there. Prune trees abutting main streets and avoid obstruction to traffic and people’s movement
  • Use public toilets / urinals properly. Avoid nuisance in open spaces / road margins

BIRTH AND DEATH REGISTRATION AND ISSUE OF EXTRACT
Under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act., the urban local bodies play a vital role in registering births and deaths within their territory and issue extracts of births / deaths to the citizens.

  • Informants for Registration should be responsible persons who could give correct personal information to avoid problems later

  • Avoid nick names or alias names in giving information both for the Birth and Death
  • Insist on giving details to the Hospital where delivery occurs for registration and a copy of the Report forwarded to the Registration Authority
  • For extracts give correct details and pay the required fees for copies and search fees
  • Inform the mode by which you would like to receive the extract – through mail or in person or through messenger
  • If it is through Messenger, give a specific written authorization to collect the extract
  • Do not insist on recording “Cause of death” in the extract for death certificate, as it is not given, even though the information is entered in the main register of deaths.

PREVENTION OF FOOD ADULTERATION
The Health officer / sanitary officer of the Municipality and his team of Food Inspectors are entrusted with the responsibility of enforcement of the “Prevention of Food Adulteration Act” within the Municipal limit. The trades / traders handling food articles are also licensed. Functions / Services / Enforcement

  • Have a watch over the sale of food articles within the territory
  • If there are complaints or suspicion take samples of the food and send it to laboratory of analysis
  • If found adulterated, prosecute the offender in a court of law and pursue, so that it will act as a deterrent
  • Issue license for trades under the Act after verification and collection of fees
  • Create awareness among people and traders

IMMUNISATION This Municipality is playing an active role in immunization according to schedule and in nation wile special drives for immunization. The Health officer or Commissioner of the Municipality and his team of Doctors and para-medical staff are entrusted with the responsibility for immunization programs

Polio Camps are conducted as per the Government announcements The Municipality conducts regular Camps at School for Children’s health care at frequent interval.
