Thiruvathipuram Municipal Market is one of the important commercial centre, which supports the daily needs of population residing in the surrounding rural areas & the town. The Municipality market is located in the central area near the main Temple ( Sri Vedhapuriswarar Temple) accommodates 17 shops ( both Fruit stalls & Flower shops). The commerial activities are concentrated along Gandhi street, Market Street, Arni Road near central Bus stand. Thiruvathipuram Municipal Market is one of the important commercial centres and generates revenue, which to Local Body. At present, Municipal market is located in the central area near the main temple consists of 6 shops (Fruit stalls & Flower shops). Other than this, there are 15 shops are functioning in Arcot Road (Anumanthanpet street) opposite to central bus stand. Commercial activities are scattered in Gandhi Street. The existing market needs to be re-organised with additional facilities.
