As per Government Order No. 67, Department of Municipal Administration and Water Supply dated 11.09.2021, Surandai Town Panchayat upgraded to Municipality.
Earlier Surandai was known as Raja Sooriya Nallu” then it becomes Surantha. For the past 50 years, the city name is Surandai.
Surandai is one of the Municipality which in situated very near the Western ghats and also on the banks of the river Chittar. Surandai is surrounded with fertile Greeny Fields. many Temples, Churches and Mosques.
