About Sivakasi City Municipal Corporation
Sivakasi was constituted as Third Grade Municipality in the year 1920. Upgraded as II Grade Municipality in the year 1978 (21.08.1978). It was upgraded as First Grade Municipality in the year 1978 (1.10.78). This Municipality was awarded as “Selection Grade” in the year 1998. And Sivaksi Municipality was upgraded from Selection grade to Special Grade Municipality in the year of 2013.
In the Order of the Municipal Administration and Water Supply(Election) Department of Order No.127 dated 16-12-2021 Sivakasi Municipality and Thiruthangal Municipality have been constituted as City Municipal Corporation with effect from 21-10-2021.

The Municipal Corporation office is situated nearby 1.5 K.m West from the bus – stand.
