History and Growth of the Town
Poonamallee Municipality is situated in the West Chennai of Tamilnadu in Thiruvallur District. This Town is surrounded with infrastructural facilities and it is near to visit Chennai Metropolitan Bus Terminal (CMBT). The Town is having an extent of 25.55 sq.m radius.
Poonamallee Town was upgraded from Third Grade Municipality to First Grade Municipality on G.O.M.S. No. 154, dated 09.08.2010. Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department and now it is a Selection Grade Municipality. There is floating population and major business activities are in this Town. Most of the people are Business Men and Working Community.
