Revenue Section

Perambalur Municipality is collecting the following taxes from the public:

I.       Property Tax
II.     Professional Tax
III.   Non tax revenues: Revenue from leased shops,  markets, shopping complexes, etc.,
IV.    Fees and Charges
A. Water Charges
B. Underground Drainage Charges
C. Encroachment License fees

The following revenues are assigned to the Municipality:

1. Entertainment tax
2. Surcharge on Stamp duty

Library Cess

At present for every Rupee of the property tax collected by the local bodies 10 paisa is added as Library Cess and collected along with the property tax and remitted to the local Library Authority.

It is an another wing of the Municipality, headed by the Revenue Inspector and he is supported by 3 Revenue Assistants with the tax collection of taxes and non tax and they are held responsible for the entire collection of Revenue.
