Kundrathur Panchayat Office was constituted on 20.03.1945, as per Go.No.Ms.629 Local Administration Department Dated.20.03.1945, it was upgraded as 1^st Grade Town Panchayat on 01.04.1968 as per Director of Rural Development, Chennai-9 Proceedings Rc.No.68338/68 E1 Dated.17.6.1968 and Selection Grade Town Panchayat on 01.04.1978 as per Director of Rural Development, Chennai-9 Proceedings Rc.No.48491/78 E1 Dated.01.04.1978. The Kundrathur Town Panchyayat upgraded to Grade-II Municipality as per Go.No.94 Municipal Administration and Water Supply (Election) Department, Dated.01.11.2021.
