About Municipality

Kulithalai Town  was upgraded as Municipality Grade III on 17.5.1994 vide  G.O. Ms.No.127 and now it is upgraded as IInd Grade Municipality with effect from 22.5.98 vide G.O.(MS) No.85 MA & WS Department dated 22.5.1998. The area of the town is 11.16 Sq.Kms. The present population as per 2011  census is 27910.The Municipality is divided into 24 wards. Out of 24 wards 12 wards are general among which 2 wards are reserved. Remaining 12 wards are women among which 2 wards are reserved .The total length of roads are  32.358 Kms.The entire town is covered with protected water supply distribution line and water supplying daily twice. Kulithalai is situated at the banks of Cauvery river, so there is no scarcity of water.
