Road Network Kayalpatnam, a Third Grade Municipality in Thoothukudi District is located at 38km from Thoothukudi and 5km from Tiruchendur. It is nearer to Bay of Bengal. It is well connected by the Major district roads & Well connected with railway to Tirunelveli. Municipal Roads Kayalpatnam Municipality maintains 32.17 Km of roads and streets. Nearly 48% of the roads are surfaced with Bituminous Top (roads) and Cement Concrete23% (foot paths). The remaining 29% of the roads are un-surfaced roads as WBM and earthen. Majority of the areas are highly undulated in nature and due to this the developments are scattered in available plain between the undulated areas, which pose constraint for the maintenance of roads, the details of road network is shown in Table.
