Penny Cuick Memorial

A memorial to Colonel John Penny cuick was unveiled at Lower Camp 8 Kms from Gudalur in Theni District. Further newly constructed bus terminal in Theni named after him in December 2013.

Sri Gowmariamman Temple

Sri Gowmariamman Temple is located 38 kms from Gudalur. The Gowmariamman Temple is situated in Veerapandi village. This temple was constructed in the 14th century by the Pandya king, Veerapandi. It is believed that after praying to lords Gowmariamman and Kanneeswaramudaiyar, the king got his eye sight back, hence he built this temple.

Thekkady:

Thekkady is located 25 kms from Gudalur. It is near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The sanctuary is famous     for its dense evergreen, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest.

Kannaki  Temple:

The Kannaki Temple situated 35 kms from Gudalur, It represents the Pandian style of Kerala architecture. Believed to be constructed by Cheran Chenguttuvan, the king of Kerala, the shrine is dedicated to Goddess Mangala. Devotees can only pray in the temple on Chitra Pournami day that falls in the months of April and May.

Suruli Falls :

Suruli falls is located 20 kms east from Gudalur. It is a 2 stage Cascading water fall. The Suruli River supplying the falls originates from the Meghamalai mountain range.
