About Municipality
Village panchayat was constituted in Gudalur with effect from 1901, then upgraded to Town Panchayat from 1952. The Town Panchayat was Converted as III grade Municipality with effect from 10.07.04 Vide G.O.NO.270 dated 11.06.04. It was upgraded as II grade municipality as per G.O.No.154 of RD & LA Department RD & LA dt:09.08.2010
