About Municipality
Cumbum Municipality is constituted as III Grade municipality with effect from 01.10.1958 and II Grade municipality form 25.01.1975 and become I Grade municipality with effect from 22.05.1998 and incorporated under Tamil Nadu Municipalities Act 1920. The Municipality is spread over an area of 6.58 Sq.Km. and divided into 33 Wards. Cumbum municipality maintains 55.173 Kms. of Road within the Town limit. As per 2001 census, the Present population of this town is 58891.
